It's slow, mechanically poor & the platforming is non-existent most of the game (i.e. If you're looking for something like Hollow Knight avoid S&S like the plague. I think you will not regret if you buy it. Everything from the first game got refined here. The game is beautiful, veeeery well made, stunning to see, the music is atmospheric and contributes 100% to the immersion (and some of them I found memorable, like The Oasis, Temple of the Destroyer and El Machino), has a very good lenght on your first playthrough (me and a friend spent about 25 hours) and has a good lore and a fairly interesting story that connects Dig 1 and Steamworld Heist. I played the first one and I though it was very good and very addicting (the gameplay loop is fantastic), but at the same time I felt that I would appreciate it more if it had more cool and ambient/atmospheric music, more areas, lasted a bit longer (I spend 7 hours on it), and a little bit more refinement on the art.Īnd Steamworld Dig 2 brought all of this, and a little more.
